HOW TO HELP

At present, St Mary's House receives no government funding. It relies entirely on the charitable support of the Sisters of Mercy, community groups, clubs and small businesses of the local area, church associations and many generous individuals.

Other support in kind, is given in the form of items for street stalls, quality used clothing and ‘as new’ household goods.

St Mary's House always welcomes assistance from individuals who can give of their time, talent and service.

VOLUNTEERS are always needed and welcomed!

  • caterers;
  • English language tutors (training provided);
  • ‘crafty’ people;
  • fund raisers;
  • pastoral visitors; and
  • writers (for St Mary's Mews - the newsletter of SMH)
  • Writers to assist clients in English letter writing and filling in of forms.
  • Teacher's Assistance for Chatterbox and Playgroup

To whom shall we go?

If you have a skill and want to offer your services, you are welcome to contact the House.

IN PARTNERSHIP... GIFT GIVING TO ST MARY'S HOUSE
A new initiative by the Australian Taxation Office and the Australian Charities Fund

This scheme allows employees to arrange automatic deductions from their salaries to be paid to nominated charities. The advantages of the initiative are twofold. The nominated charities will receive regular donations direct from the employer while the employee will benefit from donating nominated amounts over $2.00 from their pre-tax salary.

Under this arrangement there is no need for employees to keep receipts to claim a tax deduction at the end of the financial year. The nominated charity and the full year deduction will appear on the group certificate.

Contact your employer today about setting up a Workplace Giving Partnership with St Mary's House.

MAKING A DONATION
The House is ever more reliant on its family and friends for financial support. Your gift or sponsorship will be gratefully accepted and is greatly appreciated as it enables St Mary's to maintain and extend its services.

To donate (all donations over $2.00 are tax deductible) or for further information please contact the Administrator. You can also view, print and post or fax the special donation form by clicking here.
